Regular Schedule

I have dropped the ball. I want this page to be a place where I (and others) can talk about the process of writing, about the life of a writer, about the angst that comes with having a creative nature. But it's really hard to do that where there aren't any posts to discuss or comment on.

So ... I will get right to the point: beginning Sunday, October 21, I will post EVERY Sunday. And, when those times comes when something is bouncing around relentlessly in my head, I will put up an additional post. But I will keep myself to the every Sunday schedule. Also, for any of you who are following my Chrysanthemum Stone blog, my new plan with that blog is to publish a new post every Monday, beginning Monday, November 1, with an essay about one of my favorite authors, the late Ed McBain.

Thanks for being patient!

  1. Don't put yourself under too much pressure, Raul; otherwise, you'll lose the fun of writing. Your faithful readers are patient (well, about some things) and will wait to hear from you when you're ready.

  2. Well, thank you Nina! :-) I am actually trying very hard to keep myself focused and determined WITHOUT letting the fun fall into jeopardy. I have spent too much of my life not doing what I really enjoy. So ...

Today, while I was working on the final edit of Shelter (which is coming along splendidly), I was listening to C. Stone's playlist, and got stuck on the song, Catch the Wind by Donovan. It put me in a mood and the creative juices started to flow, and I found myself jotting three pages of notes for a new book. Of course, it will have to wait for a while, as I already know the next book I will start working on once Shelter is complete (in the next few weeks). It was so much fun letting the idea take shape.

While I'm making more and more time to write, I am finding that I want even more and more time. The unfortunate thing is that I can't afford to write if I don't work at my day job.
